The Intercontinental exceeded my expectations and could be a hotel anywhere in the world. Security was a high priority with every car being thoroughly checked before being allowed on the premises. Check-in was smooth, quick and friendly. The whole hotel was clean and well kept with attentive staff. This is a good, clean hotel with a LOT of security - but this is a positive and a negative. Upon arriving you're greeted by security who search the car boot and look inside the passenger area, then check the car underneath with a mirror. Next, you have to go through a metal detector to get in the hotel. Sure, it feels safe - but it also feels quite […] intimidating! The interior of the hotel is very nice and the rooms are modern and clean. The air-conditioning wasn't working very well in my room but they offered to move us to an alternative room. It is a nice hotel with great location and great breakfast, but I think that it is too expensive for what it is worth. I was a bit disappointed with the room and some of the services; the mattress was old and worn out, the gym was small and cramped, I had no minibar, and the elderly TV had an odd green tinge.
