Scenic Hotel Marlborough - 布伦海姆

Though the room had just been renovated, the rest of the hotel was still being worked on. They were ripping up carpet at 7;00AM and putting it down the next day with some toxic glue. So check before you stay that the reno's are done. If not do not stay here. It will be very nice once it is complete.

We booked this from the website and no where did it mention that this hotel was undergoing a major renovation. We were informed only when checking in, but in the same sentence the check-in clerk told us that it would not affect our accommodation!!! We were upstairs, so had to navigate through cold, plastic lined passageways in various stages of construction, […] spa and suana were not operational etc. We had to request extra towels as they only provide 1 small bath towel per person. The room was very small and contained 2 x double beds, round table and chairs, old very small TV with extremely bad reception eg the picture was snowy and rolled around - no SKY - a cabinet with drawers, containing fridge, coffee and tea etc, another cabinet with more drawers and lugguage bench, so it was a very cramped room. When extra towels were delivered along with fresh milk (as only provided UHT!!!) they were left outside our door on the floor. The heating unit did not work properly and kept shutting off.......so all in all not at all like the description online, but very central to the town which was the only thing good about it. 阅读更多信息

Was a little unsatisfied. It was central but was just ordinary.

Bedding and towels were immaculate. The fixtures & furniture were gently worn, but still very clean. There is a mini-bar in the fridge and counter which was so full that we could only fit in one of our bottles of coke that we brought, but oh well. The little bottles of liquor on the counter were dusty and not very appealing. There was a basket of snacks, […] but with the wine and booze so dusty, who knows how old the snacks were. I can't imagine why anyone would bother when they've got a bar and vending machines down the hall. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Convenient location within walking distance to restaurants, shops. When booking the hotel, the internet photos and location did not reflect the true characteristic of the hotel. We were pleasantly impressed on the layout and the facilities the hotel presented.
