My stay at the hotel was great I only stayed one night so not much sight seeing Hotel overall was good

Hotel is terribly expensive. The food in the restaurant is bad, but with unreasonable prices. The rooms are clean, but the other part of the hotel is dirty. For the price one should pay everything should be more than perfect, but it is too far from even normal.

This hotel is under refurbishment and should be amazing when it is finished. I rand the hotel the day before to book the courtesy bus only to find when we arrived we had to wait about an hour and finally we had to ask one of the airport staff to call on our behalf which was embarrassing and I was not at all impressed especially being in a third world […] country that has an extrememly high crime and theft /thug rate! we later found out that the bus leaves the hotel every half hour. One of the things about PNG is that you need to keep checking what the real info is because everyone is trying to help and will give you incorrect info...watch this! Anyway once we arrived to the hotel we were told because we were early we were allocated "another" similar room - well we book a deluxe tower suite and we had to constantly ring reception and demand to change into our original room however once this was done our stay was very pleasant! The bathroom could have done with some exit mould [around the top areas only] but apart from that pretty clean, sheets was good, pillows great and bed pretty comfortable. The food was pretty good and the staff very friendly - my advice if you want to stay at this hotel - make sure you spend a little extra for the suites and believe me there is a huge difference! 阅读更多信息

I have always liked this hotel, even back when it was the Islander Travel Lodge, though I never actually stayed here back in my volunteer days (I just came to have a drink and use the pool). It has always felt to me like a peaceful refuge from the noisy crowdedness of Port Moresby. I usually wouldn't stay at a hotel this expensive, but I got a good […] deal (for Port Moresby) online, and so it was the cheapest of the good quality, safe hotels in Port Moresby at the time I made the reservation. (I think it was somewhat cheaper at that time because they have a lot of construction and renovation taking place, so it is a bit noisy during the day). And in any case, all the reasonably safe and comfortable hotels in Port Moresby are outrageously overpriced, so one doesn't really have a choice. I stayed in the garden wing (not in the tower), and was initially given a room with a door (locked) that adjoined to the room next door. There was a big gap under the door, and I could hear everything in the room next door. I complained, and they eventually changed my room to a much nicer one (big balcony, no noise from neighboring rooms, poolside). I found the service to be very good--all the staff are very friendly and helpful, but not intrusive. There are a few problems: twice they took away old towels, but never brought new towels (and another guest I spoke with experienced the same thing). But in general the service is very good. My room (once I changed rooms) was large and very comfortable. The bed/pillows were comfortable, and the bathroom was large, clean, and well supplied with shampoo, soap, etc. This room was on the second floor of the garden wing, and overlooked the pool and beautiful flowers. I really loved sitting on my balcony in the late afternoon and evening. The food at this hotel is terrible, however. I tried the buffet for dinner twice, as well as 4 different meals on the dinner menu. All bad, so be warned. Also, the so-called gym is in terrible shape--most of the 阅读更多信息
