We stopped in Albany for an overnight stay on our way home from a vacation. The Country Hearth was appealing to us on hotels.com due to price and location and it seemed descent enough in the pictures. Wow, we were wrong! I have stayed in multiple very low budget motels, but this experience was the worst! The room had not been cleaned properly as there […] was no toilet paper and a used bar of soap left in the tub. The towels smelled horrific, the bed blankets had lots of large holes throughout, and the tv only had one station. Since we didn't check in until almost midnight, we were too exhausted to request another room or assistance, however it is a shame this place is getting away with operating such a disgusting inn. Clearly a 1 1/2 - 2 star hotel. The adage goes, you get what you pay for. There was a bathroom light that flashed on/off at various times throughout the night. The tub was rusted, but the water was hot. No one arrived at the desk at check out time after ringing the bell several times and yelling to the back, finally I just left my key on the desk with […] a note with my room number.
