Had a great 18 days here. Wonderful welcome from the very friendly staff. We have been to this hotel a number of times and if anything the hotel is better than ever, and extremely well managed. A very nice hotel direct on the beach. Nice modern rooms. Very plesent garden. Exelent gym. The restaurant was however not more than OK and restaurant staff was not very service oriented.. There is only a 15 minute walk into central Holetown, witch have lots of shops and exelent food.

Having read other reviews of the Colony Club I was hesitant to book. Many said it was past its former glory and run down. I can't agree. I found the rooms and public spaces very well maintained and recently redecorated. The dining area is reminiscent of Raffles in Singapore with elegant columns and arches, fans and a general feeling of nostalgia for elegant years gone by. Staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive and some even remembered my name which is a nice added touch. I went in the off season at a time when the rooms were not as expensive as during the high season. I don't think I would choose to spend the much higher rates (about 4 times the price) on a deluxe room during the peak season. Highly recommended. We spent a week at the Colony Club and were very sad to depart so soon! Great staff, from management to waiters and water sports assistants. Very polite and working hard behind the scenes to make our holiday as pleasant as possible. Decent pool-side & dinner entertainment, but a little on the quiet side. The hotel has the look and feel of a small club, very intimate and quiet as it's set a short walk away from the main road. Great water sports offering, you will not get bored! We recentlyspent 10 nights at the hotel in a garden view room which in my opinion and for someone who frequently travels was more than adequate. Barbados can be an […] expensive place to eat with some fantastic seafront restaurants but you need to experience some island life as well. Oistens fish market on a Friday night is a must, The Fish Pot is a cute restaurant in lovely surroundings, Ragamuffins on a Sunday night has to be booked and for fun partying and Caribbean nightlife St.Lawrence Gap has a cool feel to it. The Colony Club is situated just north of Holetown and easy and safe to walk into town day or night. We happily staggered home on the odd night from a fun night out and everyone still has a smiley face and says "hi man".
