Zero points! The worst hotel in Amsterdam for a fortune! Never ever again! Very stinky, old, small, uncomft., Loud etc I've never seen worse than this all over Europe and North Africa!!

location is really key! between dam square and central station. we got a room with some street noise but it was not so bad

Great hotel close to city center and easy walking distance to all the sights! Very eclectic design, with nice lobby. Rooms were quite outdated, but were very clean and quiet. Desk service was exceptional - many thanks to them for their help during our stay!

This hotel looks like it hasn't been updated in years. The carpets were stained and dirty. The light fixture in our room was missing, and just bare bulbs were exposed. Our room looked out over a filthy alley way. The only nice things to say about this hotel was that the bathroom was clean and that it was within walking distance of Central Station.

I would stay there again. Nicest hotel I have stayed in by far in Amsterdam. Staff are lovely and hotel is clean and location is great.

a short distance from the central rail station, on the edge of busy neighborhood, some rooms not very well sound proofed. clean bathroom attached to the room. good facilities and great staff, particularly front desk person named patrick, who gave me a good and spacious room.

I stayed at the hotel as a business traveller, but it is better suited for the leisure market. Especially travellers on a budget. The hotel is good value for money, but expect really small rooms, old furniture and mediocre service. The location is excellent, though.

Good location, friendly service, clean room,comfortable bed however very dated with rough paintwork.

We stayed at the Tulip mainly because it was reasonably priced and had a good location both of which proved to be spot on. The price was spot on for the comfort of the room and the hotel facilities. It was very easy to find upon arriving by train from the airport. Loads of bars and restaurants nearby and plenty of tram stops and metro should you want […] to go anywhere further afield. My room was quite narrow and the two single beds were places end to end but this was not a problem. The room was very comfortable and clean. Had a TV, wardrobe and very nice bathroom. Some might say the bathroom would be small but it was clean, the shower was excellent and had all you needed in there. I did notice our room overlooked an Irish bar which i thought might cause some noise late at night but proved not to be the case. To be honest, my main concern when booking this hotel was to be close to the center. However, not being interested in the "dark" side of Amsterdam, I was a bit weary of the possible noise/area. The location is undoubtedly the best. We went there for the weekend. We took the superior room which is quite a decent size. But the bed was not very comfy. It felt like we were sleeping on a sponge. Hotel is in a central location. Reception is fine, room are very basic to say the least. Overall it is a very tired hotel.

Upon arrival at around 11.30am I was given the keycard to my room. Went to the room tired from having had a 3.30am start to my day. Unpacked my case, then went to go to the bathroom to take a shower. The towels were all on the floor wet and the toilet was disgusting. Clearly the room had not been prepared, so a mistake by reception MAYBE, but day 2 they tried to come in at 8.30 am and clean, when we had only been in the room for 20 minutes from a night a club, We were naked on the bed and the cleaner just walked in seemingly oblivious to the fact there were very active and naked people in the room. Only gets this ratint because of the low price and kettle being present. Due to my room being at the backside of the hotel, it was only quiet outside between 0200 and 0700. If you have to work that's not optimal. Front desk did not ask me, just gave me a room. Upon arrival, I found other people in the room - was assigned a new one, but really... Thick fog of pot in the 'non-smoking hotel', noisy, cramped rooms, many things in disrepair. Paid four star price for this. Guess it was extra expensive because of New Year's, but would not even consider paying half of this amount for what I got.

First room they gave me had been a closet. Filthy, tiny, and terrible odor. Second room was in the basement. Also unacceptable. I agreed to pay more money for a better room, and clerk said he would give me a better room for 10 euro. Charged me 20 euro instead. Gave me credit (I hope) after I complained. I did not have any unpleasant surprises. The room was clean the location is great and the price is very comptitive.

If you're going to Amsterdam to Party, this is a great location in the middle of the Niuewe Zidjs (new side) of the old Centrum, walking distance from a bunch of attractions as well as the Centraal railway station. I was there 4 Days ago, I really have to say it`s a good Hotel. Okay it has a little smell at the frontdesk, but that`s not heavy! The Rooms where very clean and there nothing stinks, the flat TV is also good. It`s a little bit a hotel for younger people, because it`s really in the Center of the Red Light District. Something about the Parking Place, the Hotel also have a Parking Service. It costs 30 Euro for a Day. This was not the Problem, BUT they drive my Car! So for everybody like me, that will not give his Baby in other Hands use the Park and Ride at the Olympic Stadium. Every navigation System will find this. It`s about 10-15 Minutes from the Hotel. It`s also cheaper, it costs just 8 Euro a Day and you receive from 1-5 tickets for the Tram/Train to go back to your Hotel and also to come back from the Hotel to your Car. Have Fun! The hotel was clean and the staff very polite and accommodating. Request a higher floor as the neighborhood was very noisy and they seemed to stay out all night.

Great location if you want to be in the central area. Room was small, clean but very noisy as it was facing the party street.

Hotel is very old. The rooms are creepy... Big Plus on the location next to the Central Station

I recomend this hotel for others. ist a kleen nice and quite hotel. And its on a great location. the brakfest ther is very good. lots to choose between. And the staff is very polite and helpfull. ill be staying ther for my nesxt visit. thnaks!

Very convenient to Central Station - no need for public transport or taxis. Bed + room simple but very comfortable. Clean & plenty of hot water. Simple but adequate breakfast. Good staff - kind and helpful

I had a single room, as its only a 3 star hotel you get what you pay for which was very reasonable for Amsterdam. The mattress were new and very comfortable, The rooms are smallish but you have all you need in it even tea facilities which I was pleased about. Need ear plugs at night if you are a light sleeper as I would think in the summer it could […] be quite noisey, but I had 3 good nights sleep. Room 205 is the best side as there is a church bell that goes off on the other side and very noisey, unfortunately no double glazing, I would think in the summer it would be hot as there is no air conditioning. Ok, the hotel was in a good location, but the street behind was all coffee shops, a bit seedy. The first room we got No 29 on the ground floor was terrible. It should not be used, odd bits of furniture, next to lift and stairs and on the street by the coffee shops. Asked to get another room next morning and the reception asked the room no. and then […] said about the noise, so it is obvious that they know this is not a good room. The next room on the 1st floor was better but was in need of a freshing up. The rooms look nothing like the website. Rather shabby corridors and looking dated. when you enter the hotel it stinks!!! bit of a maze in the hotel. i stayed in room 16 and was dirty and very cold. no air conditioning. comfy beds and a nice sized room. the pics shown where for modernised rooms and as they where fully booked we had to live with the non modernised room. excellent location, 8 min to station. 1 min to red light. 6 min […] to dam square. our room was on street level and next to the church. bells are not that loud at this level. 阅读更多信息

Where do I begin..It took me 5 minutes with heavy luggage to go from the reception to my room tucked away along various sets of stairs. Once in the room, you can only walk forward and backward with a flat screen less than 2 metres from the opposite wall.. yes.. watching TV has to be standing up on a bed with your back against the wall... burn marks […] in the carpet .. a heater in the floor exposed through grills so you cannot stop any rats coming through the flooring....Room number stuck with sticky tape against the door....At least the staff were friendly. 阅读更多信息

Went with two mates - had a great room! Went to hotel a few years ago before refurbishment and has improved significantly.

Overall, a good deal. We did have a lot of luggage and no matter where your room is located there are some stairs that you'll need to climb. We had 2 rooms and both had to go up 1 or more sets of stairs to get to the room. This was the worst place I have ever stayed. The room was small and not the cleanest I have been in. They have a very low hourly rate for those who don't plane to sleep. For a budget hotel right in the heart of the RLD you cant really do better. The staff aren't too friendly but as a sleeping and showering base it does the trick

Location was wonderful, the hotel was very noisy, our room was on the lower level right on the street. Amsterdam goes all night long!

We tollerated our stay at the Tulip Hotel in Amsterdam. The room was very small and the window could not be open at night for the noise from the street below. However, the convenient location was more important to us than the size of room. This is not a place for the handiapped or someone with lifting restrictions.. Very close to Amsterdam Central Station, which is good if you are carrying heavy bagagge. Not clean at all, and everything seems to be very old.

Physical appearance could use clean up and depending on room one gets ear plugs would be handy. Personnel helpful and short walk to central station and many local attractions.

Located parallel to the Damrak and 5 minutes from centraal station, hotel is in good location. It's on the outskirts of the red light district. Staff were helpful, room is ok, but there's no ventilation...godo to put your head down for the night, but that's it.
