We just got back and were sad to leave! It was a beautiful hotel, the grounds, beach, pools all immpecable. Would recommend to anyone. My husband and I are 27 and 30 and most people were older than us, but it didn't matter, actually made it more relaxing because it wasn't rowdy. We had a few issues in the beginning, our room had "ants" but we were on […] the ground level. They sprayed, but ultimately it didn't help, so we were moved to a master suite that was amazing, so kind of glad because we got an upgrade. They are there to please you and make you happy, so they'll make it right. Great selection of restaurants, didn't have to make reservations or wear wristbands, huge plus. Talked to others at the airport that had to do that at their resort, and really found it to be a pain and inconvenience. We enjoyed the entertainment and all staff was excellent. We did the zip lining with canopy adventure tours, amazing experience! We also did the dune buggies through the hotel, awesome! Would recommend that because you leave from the hotel so you skip the 2 hours of transportation, more time at the beach, plus it's less expensive. Look for the guys in orange shirts or they'll tell you about it if you do the free horseback riding. One word of advice, go get towels and reserve your chairs early, when it's busy it's hard to find a spot at the pool if you wait. It wasn't a big deal, just a need to know. All in all an absolutely wonderful, relaxing vacation and we would recommend to any of out friends and family. I didn't hear any negative comments from anyone, the whole week! This could have been a very nice vacation other than some of the staff personnel only catering to the caucasion vacationers. I believe this went on because they were receiving tips from many of the caucasion visitors, however this is an all inclusive resort so whether or not I offer a tip should not dictate the service and hospitality level I should […] be afforded. The shower in my room, the water just turned completely off while in the middle of showering,other days the water pressure was a mere trinkle. The only persons I found who treated me and my quest with respect and hospitality was the housekeeping person "Ruddy" and the front desk personnel, Oh and also "Willie from the sports bar/Bike Tour guide. The bikes were raggedy,the dunboogies kept breaking down. You would think a resort of this caliber would keep their equipment in working condition. I must say I was truly disappointed. Generally speaking, our stay was okay. Some of the facilities are very nice, like the gym, spa, beach, main lobby, restaurants. The gardens are okay, but not as lush as others we've seen. We loved napping on the beach in our private, covered beach bed. The beach and pool wait staff were very attentive and friendly. Our main problem was the inconsistency, […] which at times was confusing. For example, one day we'd receive a newspaper or certain items in the minibar, and other days we wouldn't. Every day I'd have to call housekeeping for something that was not replaced after room cleaning, such as washcloths, for example. More inconsistency: We were not allowed to join a yoga class when we came 5 minutes late, but when we got to a water exercise class early, and only two people were there, the class was cancelled. Basically, most waiters and outside staff were very attentive and accommodating, but a couple of the recreational staff were less than friendly and at times did not seem to have the guests interests in mind or did not carry out activities which were listed on the resort's daily schedule. Drinks were offered generously. The food was just okay, with the exception of the Indian-style beach party buffet dinner, which was absolutely delicious and a blast! We travel a lot and stayed in many all inclusives in the Dominican Republic. The Excellence stands out as a very old and small resort with very good customer service and management. If this is what you are looking for, than you will enjoy your stay. We would prefer newer property with more amenities.

We went to the DR for our honeymoon. We decided to use our reward points and stay at three different resorts so we could get different experiences from the trip. Our first stop was at the Excellence. The roads were fine, don't let other reviewers scare you. The hotel was amazing, very safe, very clean, very professional. The beaches are raked and cleaned […] constantly so there was never anything to spoil the view of the ocean. The beaches are set up so that every chair has a cabana so it didn't have tat crowded feel to it at all. We always felt like the most important people on the island. All of the staff called us by our names, they must have briefings before shift change because the excellence club staff made everything personal and romantic for us. The only time bugs were an issue was when we took a midnight stroll on the beach and close to the water we ran into a patch of mosquitoes but never on hotel grounds. The food was much better than expected. The seafood ceviche at the grill has to be the best I have ever had anywhere and the chicken tacos at breakfast are outstanding. You don't need reservations (which we did have to have at the other hotels and is not really convenient) so that was a big plus. The drinks here were superior to any of the other hotels as well. The coconut drinks are the best and none of the other hotels had them. Plus coconut oil at the bottom of the drinks a natural bug repellent! The cookout on the beach is a fun way to meet other guests. We had an amazing time there and Juan Gabriel was a fantastic server so we tipped him generously. You certainly do not need to tip to get great service but I don't see any reason not to. We brought $400 in small change for tips and trinkets for 5 days and it was well spent. The highlight was definitely going to Nancys for the couples massage. Can't beat the price or the service! I can not wait to visit other Excellence hotels and revisit this one in the DR. Hotel needs some improvements and the beach is rough, but the staff makes the difference. There is a nice beach 1/2 a mile to the right of the hotel (Really secluded). Horse ride and catamaran were included and you must do them. We did the bike ride, pin pong, kayaking, dance class, gym work out, etc... Gym is brand new and offer great choices. Food […] is good, not gourmet. You come here to relax and enjoy with your partner not to overeat/drink. nao volto e nao recomento. o hotel é distante de punta cana uns 50km, é de difícil localização. havia um vazamento no frigobar que fazia com que o armário em que o mesmo fica alojado estivesse mofado. a arrumadeira e o rapaz do frigobar entraram sem bater e quando reclamei a pessoa da recepção disse quer era assim mesmo....o restaurante oregano é horrível! […] o japonês serve comida entre fria e semi congelada. mas o cafe da manha é excelente. o serviço de piscina e praia também. nota 3,5 no geral que não é compatível pelo valor cobrado. 阅读更多信息

Hotel muito bom faz as pessoas esquecerem o mundo aqui fora. Dá vontade de n~ao sair mais de lá. A única coisa que nao é maravilhosa é a comida.

El hotel está en excelentes condicones de mantención pese a tener algunos años, pero se nota el cuidado y la mantención. El servicio de la mucama y las camareras y camareros es de primera, gente dispuesta a atender y dar muestras de satisfacción. El servicio durante las comidas es excelente y todo funciona en forma coordinada y normal, existe la variedad […] de comida más que suficiente para una estancia de una semana ya que el hotel consta de 7 restaurants y se puede acceder a cualquiera de ellos sin restricciones más que la del horario de funcionamiento.Las piscinas e instalaciones en la playa están en excelentes condicones y atienden de manera grata y cordial que se disfruta a cabalidad.No hay tiempo para aburrirse o dejar de disfrutar de la estancia. Et flott all- inclusive hotell med fantastisk service. Hotellområdet er stort, og det er mye å gjøre der om man ønsker å være i aktivitet. Verdt å nevne er treningsstudio med topp utstyr og air condition. Ellers er det et stort pluss at hotellet har 8 forskjellige restauranter, så man slipper endeløse buffèmiddager. At det ikke var barn på hotellet […] var deilig. Dagene gikk rolig for seg og man kunne føle roen bre over seg uten støy og mas. Hotellet ligger i et område uten bebyggelse, så det er bare hotellets gjester på stranda. Ingen slitsomme selgere!!!! Personalet på hotellet opptrådde ekstremt profesjonelt og lot deg være i fred, ingen slitsomme tilnærmelser. Hotellet har også eget SPA med mange ulike behandlinger. Litt dyrt, men verdt prisen. Man kan helt fint oppholde seg på hotellet uten å bruke en eneste krone. Alt er inkludert, også enkelte aktiviteter. Ønsker man å delta på spesielle utflukter etc, koster dette ekstra. Dette hotellet anbefales på det sterkeste. Det var verdt hver eneste krone! Hotell Exellence passer nok aller best for par, med særdeles romantiske omgivleser.
