Although the staff were extremely friendly and eager to help, giving mostly very good service, this hotel needs a MAJOR renovation.and internal replacement of furnishings. What was once a beautiful, clean hotel is now an ugly mess with frayed carpets and battered furniture in the room, poor cleaning service and overall deterioriation into dirt and squalor. It's an excellent hotel, but rather expensive compared to other good hotels I've stayed in (mainly in Delhi). The cost of basic e.g. coffee, drinks, food all seem overpriced and similar to Central London prices.

This is not the best of Tajes, but it is a very good hotel, probably the best hotel in Chandigarh. It is very well located within the city, walking distance from the main shopping area and not far from the Rock Garden, the lake and the Rose Garden. The staff is very helpful and courteous.
