I paid way too much for a small room, with an old bed that was sagging in the middle and old lumpy pillows. The room was clean, but I would have expected to pay less than half of what I did pay for the room. The decor was outdated, which is fine if I'm paying econolodge prices. However, I paid more than that and thus expected more.

The motel is staffed and owned by very nice people who like most in this Northern Michigan community are very hospitable and helpful. The room was very reasonable, for the price I have no complaints. Everything was clean and the bedding looked pretty new. The hotel is well located about two short blocks from the downtown drag and not far from the water. Older hotel but well kept up. We had 2 bedroom, queen in each plus nice desk, 2 comfy chairs. A little pricey on week-end nights since you don't get a breakfast in a.m. except coffee and muffins. Very convenient located to downtown area and restaurants.

Price and location were good. Staff was friendly. Although I don't believe anyone is there after 11 P.M.However, the last night we were there our air conditioner quit working. ( It has a window air conditioner) We spent an uncomfortable night. When we checked out they said they would fix it. But offered no price adjustment or anything. "Good room for the money."

The hotel was right at the end of town so it was east access to walk anywhere. It was a smaller room and somewhat basic, but price was a concern on my trip and i was pleased with the money I spent.

We had a great stay at the Continental Inn after kayaking the Inland Waterway for two days. Our room was clean, quiet and exactly what we needed after two days of paddling. The owner was friendly and gave us great advice on local restaurants. We are looking forward to staying there again if we make the trip next summer.
