Istria’s most visited resort, Porec dates back to Roman times. The terracotta-roofed old town sits on a small peninsular, and its main sight is the sixth-century, UNESCO-listed Euphrasius Basilica, home to stunning golden Byzantine mosaics. Most of the large modern hotels, with good sports facilities and a sophisticated wellness centre, lie on the coast south of the old town, and on the tiny island of St Nikola, accessible by boat.

Excellent hotel with an easy walk (10 min) on the coastline to the center of Porec (tram available). Friendly staff, relatively new, decent size rooms, good beds, air conditioning, balconies. 2 min walk to the beach with grass, ample shade, amenities. Rocky, pebbly coastline, maybe not for babies, but little kids will enjoy it in water shoes. Excellent […] buffet half board, with many healthy choices of large variety of food, excellent fresh seafood, large fruit and veggie selections. The drinks are not included and pricey, but acceptable. If you come to lose weight, that is going to be hard, because of the temptation. Porec is a small, but very picturesque town with old buildings, narrow streets, an old Basilica. There are outside restaurants, cafes, shops everywhere. Modernes elegantes Ferienhotel nur 200 Meter vom sehr gepfegten Strand entfernt. Grosses Schwimmbecken mit Meerwasser. Sehr aufmerksames Personal mit perfekten Deutschkenntnissen. Was gut war habe ich bereits angekreuzt. Was weniger gut war: Die Herrenbesetzung an der Rewzeption war sehr sparsam, was Freundlichkeit angeht. Niemand hat uns geholfen das Gepäck auf Zimmer zu bringen,gerade noch dass sie sie über die Treppen geliftet haben. Poolbar hat nur am letzten Tag geöffnet. In den lezten drei Abenden war die Klimaanlage im […] Restaurant ausgefallen, niemand von. d. Personal schien sich darum zu kümmern.
