Breakfast at Marshall Slocum was very classy and very good. Would have enjoyed meat with the breakfast, but still very enjoyable. Individual air conditioner was quite noisy as it had to run most of the time. Very enjoyable stay.

As a couple who stays primarily in B&Bs on vacation, we've got a pretty good perspective on them...and the Marshall Slocum House was a wonderful home base for our first trip to Newport. Lovely, elegant, wonderfully quiet and spotlessly clean, it's a pleasant retreat after the end of a long day visiting the summer "cottages" or rambling along Cliff […] Walk. And innkeeper Mark's breakfasts are super (his pancakes are the fluffiest I've ever eaten!), as was the talk around the table, and the friendliness of the other guests. The Marshall Slocum was a lovely house, very pleased with room and house. But found owner to be very grumpy, arrogant and rude. Also breakfast was very disappointing to what I had read in reviews. A great house but pity about owners attitude.

Three of us stayed in this gem for an overnight get away to Newport. The rooms were very comfortable and the host/chef/hotelier was excellent. We had a lovely breakfast and a very comfortable night's sleep. Beds were fabulous. You could walk to the many sights and leave your car safely parked in the lot. I will definitely go back again!

The Inn was absolutely wonderful. It was adorable and quaint, just as an inn should be. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was well kept and cleanly, and the location was perfect just minutes from Thames Street and the Cliff Walk. The best part was the breakfast that was included. My boyfriend and I stayed at the Marshall Slocum Inn this past weekend. The owner Mark was friendly and allowed us to park our car and check in a few hours early. Our room, the Library Room, was clean and comfortable, exactly the type of New England room I was looking for. Originelles Übernachten in einem schön restaurierten Haus aus 1850. Der sympathische Besitzer macht einem persönlich das Frühstück (Auswahl aus 3 frischen Gerichten), lässt einen aber ansonsten gerne auch in Ruhe. Zum Hafen muss man 10-15 min gehen.
