One of the most fascinating Holy Weeks in Spain occurs in Cuenca and for the past fifty years it has coincided with Semana de Música Religiosa -- a week long offering of liturgical music performances -- one group who sand there was from Bruges.\ Location of the hotel could not be finer -- much more convenient than the overpriced parador. The staff […] could not have been more cordial and accommodating. We have traveled in Spain for the past 40 years and operate an on-line Spanish fine food site in the USA. We know Spain well and I would rank our experience in Cuenca and at the Posada San José way up toward the top. The dining room and staff are fine -- good honest well prepared unpretentious authentic meals. Parking is available down the very narrow street. Far superior to the parador. It has been recently upgraded. The only negative was the lack of English speaking TV and no WIFI. The owner is against TV in general but is buckling to the desire of guests to have it and the WIFI.
