The Walton Residence is an apartment building that was converted into an extended stay hotel. The desk is manned from 9 AM to 7 PM. Maid service is once every five days - more frequent service is available for a charge. Guests had to empty the waste bins and make the bed if they wanted that service. The room amenities are somewhat sparse - no kleenex […] in the bath, for example. If you are looking for a full service hotel, look elsewhere. Our room was terrific - 700 square feet studio like accommodation. It was equipped with a king bed, couch, two side chairs, flat screen TV, dining table with seating for four and a lot of closet space. We asked for a refrigerator, but none was available. No desk for working, however. Wireless service in the room I occupied was poor. The wired connection wasn't functioning. The staff let me use an unoccupied room one day when I needed to do a lot of work. Some units have full kitchens, but ours had nothing in that regard, no coffee maker, microwave, etc. The location is terrific, 1/2 block from Michigan Ave or Rush St. Lots of dining and shopping options a short walk away. Oak St. beach is a couple of blocks from the hotel. It is a little noisy since it is in downtown Chicago. Hotel access is by a keypad interfaced to the front door. A restaurant serving lunch and dinner is located in the building. Room service was not possible, but many delivery options are available in that neighborhood. The staff was friendly and helpful, when they were there. They provide an emergency number for after hours problems. 阅读更多信息
